OK, so I am realizing how many things I have NOT blogged, so here's my catch up.

McKay's first bath and baby blessing. If you're wondering about the huge lump on his head, he had a sizeable hematoma (sp?) but it has since shrunk down.

Again. Jonas and Daniel are very good big brothers. Here Daniel is reading him a book and Jonas is holding him for the first time. He was thrilled!

One day, Jonas came to me wanting to wear his alligator sweatshirt. It was way too hot and I told him no. Just a few minutes later he was telling me that he was a super hero and I got this nifty idea to turn his alligator sweat shirt into a super hero cape. He wore the thing around for the next few days and conquered the world the way he knew best!

I confess, it was a chance to take advantage of. Any time he would do something questionable I would remind him that super heros always follow instructions, and if he wouldn't obey I would have to take his cape away. Furthermore.... super heros take naps and eat their cereal and go potty on the toilet and clean up their toys....... It was very effective for a while. :)

My boys are destined to become baseball players! Here is Jonas who instictively knows how to wear a baseball mitt (my birthday present this year). He would practice throwing my softball into it.

My family sang the National Anthem at the Hawk's baseball game on the 4th of July and we brought McKay along to enjoy his first game. It was a little hot, but we got to watch the fireworks that were set off right behind the stadium. I forgot how loud fireworks were, but McKay was a trooper through it all.

On the flip side.... Why are my boys so obsessed with things like headbands and the color pink? They would make cute girls, but I am glad they are boys.

Well, here are the latest of McKay. He has the cutest smile with dimples everywhere. He is sleeping through the night (always a plus), but one morning we woke up and he wasn't making too much noise, so we peeked at him to see what he was up to. Self-soothing had never made too much sense for me until now. He found his thumb and was able to put himself right back to sleep. Yes, we have a thumb-sucker.

Speaking of sleeping... Jonas had decided not to nap for a few days and the one day I decided to not give him a nap, he crashed in the car along with Daniel. And McKay, in contrast was wide awake. I just had to get a picture.

And then we have Jonas and all the new tricks he is learning. For a while he would wake up in the morning and try to slip into bed with us. After being rejected enough times he decided on a new tactic. After digging into his pajama drawer and putting on his footy pjs on backwards (dressing himself is a new trick) he opened up Daniel's door and crashed on his floor. Seeing both doors open and hearing nothing, I was worried that they may have escaped the apartment like they had a few months back, but this his how we found them. How Jonas got the zipper up that far is beyond me.

My boys are fish! Jonas started swimming on his own this summer and he is just fearless. He opens his eyes and holds his breath and just loves being in the water. Daniel wants to do everything that Jonas does and figured out how to get around with water wings. He also loves to blow bubbles, even though half the time he swallows the water. We took McKay in for the first time and he is following suit in his love of the water. He did great and didn't make a peep.

These pictures ought to answer a couple of inquiries I've been getting recently. "How do the boys like their new little brother" and "Newborns are cute and all, but when are we gonna see updated pictures of McKay?" HERE!! This should answer quite clearly!

And if it's not clear enough, Jonas and Daniel LOVE McKay. Daniel still needs to learn that hugs are good, but we don't need to lay on the baby to give him one.

Jerren's family has a time share in McCall and it rotated to our family this year. We spent a day at the beach and rented some jet skis. Jonas went out with his aunts and had such a good time, he confiscated this one that belonged to someone else and sat there forever pretending to drive it all over the lake. The owner didn't mind. They got quite a kick off of how cute he was sitting up there.

Daniel and Jonas got some time to play in the sand together also. My cute little boys!

McKay Davis Summers

OK, OK! You can all breathe easy now. Here is the little guy. Our third son, McKay Davis was born June 2, 2009 at 10:10 AM. He weighed 8 lbs, 9 oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. Labor was quick and easy and I feel fabulous. McKay had a little trouble eating at first, so we stayed in the hospital an extra day for his sake, but things are better now. He's a great baby who sleeps 3-4 hours at a time and eats in between. All is well and he is SOOOO adorable (not that I'm biased or anything).

Jonas and Daniel are pretty keen on their baby brother. We were a little concerned about Daniel's reaction to him since he is a SUPER mama's boy and can be agressive at times, but he has surprised us. His favorite phrase to say lately is "Whazzat?" and he is always pointing to McKay with a big smile to inquire. He hasn't quite mastered "baby" or "McKay" yet, but he knows where his nose is. Oh yes, and the car seat is his new favorite place to hang out when he's bored. Jonas is a big help and, despite the fact that he calls him "Baby Decay," will give him very sweet kisses on a whim. I love my boys!

Here are some pics of the boys at the playground. Jonas is becoming quite agile and wants to try everything (and brings that monkey spirit home with him). Daniel tries to follow his big brother and....

...well, he's very patient anyway. Actually, Daniel loves going down the slide and can do it all by himself. He thinks the swings are pretty great, too.

This year, the Boise zoo got upgraded where we now have lions and giraffes and a whole African Safari exhibit. What most people don't know is that the Boise State theatre department designed and built the exhibit. For those of you who don't know, I am a theatre major at BSU, so I got to participate in putting it together. So I hung out in that lion's den just days before they arrived. I think it's cool, anyway.

Aside from that, it was the first time that we have been to the zoo as a family. It was a perfect day and all the animals we right out in front of their cages to show off for the boys. They had a great time. We let them ride on the carousel and that was fabulous, too.

We recently got a new bunk bed (this is only half of it) since Jonas out grew the toddler bed. A fabulous feature was these large drawers underneath that we can store toys. Daniel took advantage of a rare moment when one of the drawers was left open. And what better way to play with toys than to play IN the toys? Daniel managed to climb in the drawer and had a hay day!

Another exciting thing to report is that my 2 year old has graduated before his mother. We enrolled Jonas in the BSU Children's Center in April and he loves it! The Center has a set up where if you enroll your child as an infant, they remain with the same teachers for the next 3 years. Then they transition to a different classroom for more of a pre-school setting. So at the end of these 3 years, they throw a little graduation. Jonas had only been there a little over a month, but he is at that transition age. The class walked in with Pomp and Circumstance playing in the background. They sang a couple of songs and got diplomas and we all watched a slideshow of the year's events. It was pretty cute. Jonas was pretty attached to his groovy hat (aside from it being taped to his head). Now if we could just get his parents to sport one like it...

Right after graduation, much to Daniel's delight we met up with Jerren to eat dinner. Daniel has never had a problem with his appetite (which all his adorable rolls can attest to) but we were all surprised at the way he inhaled his meal. We got him a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. Aunt Jacy introduced him to fry sauce and we watched in awe as he went back over and over dipping his fries and sandwich. After the rest of us had finished and were leaving, Daniel was still working intently on his fries and that pool of fry sauce. I don't know where he puts it all, but he ate just about that whole plate. He is certainly our bottomless pit.
